Tina Win Runs the Show on “How To Be Cool”

Tina Win‘s “How To Be Cool” is a straight-up pop track with a lot of attitude. You can tell right away she’s having fun with it. The beat kicks in clean and steady, just enough to keep things moving. Her voice sits on top, nice and confident. No screaming, no overdoing it. She knows she’s got the room’s attention.

The song’s basically about a girl telling some guy how it’s gonna be. She’s into him but not that into him. Likes his looks, thinks he’s got potential, but he’s gotta step up. She’s the one calling shots here. Tells him straight, you got the tools but you’re acting dumb, let me school you. It’s flirty but tough. More like, prove yourself or get lost. That back-and-forth makes it stick. You play it a couple times and the hook’s already in your head.

Vocally she keeps it simple. Hits the notes clean, adds a little smirk in the delivery. Like when she goes into that chorus, “ooh I’ll write all the rules, gonna take you to school…” You hear the laugh behind it almost. Production’s tight too. Runs about three and a half minutes, doesn’t waste time. Synth lines bubble under without getting in the way. Bass gives it some push, especially in the drop before the second verse. Feels club-ready. Good for radio or a late-night drive.

Compared to her earlier stuff like One Night Renegade from her self-titled EP, this one’s less story-heavy. That track had this wild prom night tale, beat up van and bad boy chaos. Fun mix you sent, rough around the edges, builds to those big chorus repeats. “How To Be Cool” is more grown up. Smoother, sharper. She’s not looking back at teen drama anymore. Now it’s about being the boss. Fits her whole independent thing, owning the label and all.

She doesn’t drag it out either. The track knows when to end. No extra bridge or fade that goes nowhere. Just punches the point and bounces. That’s smart pop. Listeners want catchy without feeling talked down to. This delivers. Lyrics stay on topic too. No jumping around with deep philosophy. It’s real talk about hookups and power plays. Guy’s pretty but clueless in bed, she says. Could ruin him quick but might teach him instead. Blunt, yeah, but that’s the appeal. Explicit version lives up to the name.

Her style comes through strong. You get the Romanian roots and New York hustle from her bio, but the music doesn’t lean on that. It’s universal enough. Could play anywhere from Spotify playlists to actual clubs. She’s got those custom mixes for DJs, makes sense. Track’s got replay value. First listen you’re nodding along, second time you’re singing the chorus. Third time you crank it.

Live, I bet this kills. Short, punchy, easy to move to. Saw she did that CHOWK NYC gig last year, two songs only. Smart move, leave them wanting more. This single builds on that. Released in March, already buzzing. Teasers on Insta and YouTube got people talking. Video by Bell Soto looks slick from the clips.

Pop’s full of cookie-cutter stuff right now. Tina skips that. Blends Rihanna edge with some Ke$ha wildness, her words. But it doesn’t copy. Classical training shows in the control, no wobbles. Fashion background probably helps the image too, sharp look.

Bottom line, solid single. Tina Win doesn’t ask if you’re cool. She tells you how it’s done, then walks off smirking. She’s surely rewriting the game her way.
