A Japanese producer has made his mark at Festival du Monde Arabe 2023, a prestigious music festival in the Arab world.
Who won this amazing award?
The award was presented to Nobutaka Soeda (Ryugen), a music producer based in Fukuoka Prefecture.
His album “Résilience” was released in January 2023 and was awarded at Festival du Monde Arabe 2023 held in Dubai in October of the same year.
Nobutaka Soeda (Ryugen) was born in 1980 in Koga City, Fukuoka Prefecture in Japan. He is still based in Fukuoka Prefecture. “I am truly honored to receive such a prestigious award,” He expressed his honest feelings.
He first became interested in music when he was 14 years old. He was invited to join a band when he was in junior high school. He spent his school years playing in bands and composing songs, and he began to think that he wanted to express his own personality through music.
“It’s been about a year now since ‘Résilience’ was released. Of course I am happy to have received this award, but this is still just one of the milestones on the way to my dream.
Since performing music is most comfortable for me, I would like to communicate with people from different countries, languages, and cultures through music. Even if we don’t speak the same language or have different cultures, we are still connected heart to heart. This award made me realize once again that music is something that transcends national borders and is ‘universal’.
There are many talented young musicians in Japan.
I hope that they will expand their activities to the rest of the world and become more recognized.
I would like to win a Grammy in the U.S.,” said Nobutaka Soeda (Ryugen), who concluded his speech with his own dream. The day when this becomes a reality may not be far off.
